Vinyl Care & Maintenance

For general care and maintenance of vinyl floors, follow these simple guidelines:
• Always wipe spills immediately
• Always follow your manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning your vinyl floors
• Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or steel wool on vinyl flooring, as this may scratch the floor.
• Dust regularly with a Microfiber mop.
• Use a doormat at each entrance to prevent dirt from being tracked inside the home.
• Place protectors under furniture.

Linoleum vs. Vinyl

Despite the similar qualities, they are differentiated by their composition. Linoleum is made from all-natural ingredients, like linseed oil, rosin, limestone and wood flour, unlike the synthetic materials used to make vinyl flooring. Other factors that distinguish the two are price and durability; with linoleum being the pricier and more durable of the two.

Resilient Floors

Resilient floors are considered to be flexible and have the ability to sustain high impact traffic levels. They are manufactured to be durable, water-resistant and can typically be restored to their original shape. Flooring categorized as “resilient floors,” include linoleum, vinyl and cork.
